Can't install 32.0.3 on Linux. Always says 31.0
Installed firefox-32.0.3.tar.bz2 but still get message window that I need to upgrade firefox. Help>About says I have 31.0 installed but www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ says "Congrats! You’re using the latest version of Firefox. " ??? I install as root, I install in the same place as previous version to retain local options, this is the first time I have had this problem or anything like it.

You can check the startup path of Firefox in the System Monitor to see if another version is getting started.
I'm not seeing a user agent in your above posted question.
You can check for problems caused by the user agent.

Very strange! I always install and run FF from /bin/firefox/firefox but something changed the launcher command to /usr/bin/firefox/firefox. Your question about the startup path caused me to check that and it was the problem.
Thanks! Dennis
