Hi folks,

Thunderbird 128.6.0esr (64-bit) on Fedora 41 Linux...

I'm trying to export all messages in a mailbox on an old Yahoo mail account and then import all those messages into another email account. I access both accounts from Thunderbird. I'm using IMAP protocol, and all email accounts keep the messages on the server.

I've exported the mailbox to a folder on my computer; now all the email messages exist as separate .eml files in that folder. But I can't see how to import them into the second email account.

It seems that exporting my entire profile won't help as I'm not moving everything to a second computer. But I cannot see any way to select just the one mailbox from the one 'source' email account that I want to import into the 'destination' email account.

I am trying to whitelist a domain name. TB won't let me do that. This company has a plethora of emails. I don't want to whitelist every single one of them. That would take me days. It is impractical. I want to whitelist the domain name which is concentrix.com. I want to ensure that all emails coming from that domain name land on the inbox folder. How can I do that on TB?

Hi I have an Imap account, where i mistakenly moved a folder called Bulk to the Deleted folder (see attached). I have tried searching this forum and tried various options but nothing seems to work.

note when i right click on the Bulk folder there is no "Move To" option

I deleted the folderTree.json and the folderCache.json files as these where large and had lots of references to previous folders i had deleted.

Any ideas what my issue may be, thanks in advance for your help

Hi, I have been forced to do my 2022 taxes and tried to search for my invoices, but it failed. So I followed advice to simply have thunderbird recreate the index.

However, its not working. I collected 15 email addresses over decades and are likely pushing thunderbird a bit, exposing limits on the way.

In this case, I presume (because I cannot really find logs for it) that the IMAP servers are not cooperating and the activity monitor gets stuck because of a request limit at googles IMAP server. We are talking about Gigabytes of mails some with larger attachments in the Sent folder.

What I am asking is for a bit of insight how the indexer could be tricked into finalizing its job. I might not live long enough to see the end of it otherwise ....

Is there a way to modify the timeouts maybe? Or maybe there is a way to download all the mails prior to the indexing, so it can work locally?

The system should be able to handle it (win11,ryzen9, 32GB, 2TB SSD)

Many times when I am forwarding emails or copying and pasting text from an outside source, the spell check will choose a word like "isn't" and highlight "isn" as a misspelled word. This has happened with a number of different contractions.

Additionally, it will pick parts of an abbreviated name in someone's email address in the To: field as a mistake. I do not have the time or desire to constantly, go through a long email and choose 'add to dictionary' or click ignore. Why is it even looking at parts of a contraction, and it should be ignoring the To field altogether.

Is there something wrong with my version or is this how it operates? My TBird is up-to-date: 128.5.2esr (64-bit).

I have an email from my company, where I have 18 tags created (for all of us who use the email). And they are not synced. Comparing it with my other coworkers, I have half of the tags synced (tags are saved the same for all workers, same name and color). Please help

I am not seeing all my messages on Thunderbird. However I can see them on my android tablet and samsung phone They are not in spam or junk. Also I am getting todays emails followed by 2018 emails.

Hi, I am looking to have the order of the emails from a thread as descending, the new email at the top and older ones at the bottom.

This feature simple feature seems to be present and working very well on Android but it's absent on Windows, anyone knows a proven fix as there isn't much online?

I know there is a workaround to have Unthreaded set and sort by descending which seem to work but this means the threads disappear and this makes it even harder to track related emails.

When sending an e-mail, I created a jpeg file as a signature and saved this jpeg file as a signature. When I send an e-mail, this file is sent to the other party both under the text and as an attachment. How can I solve this?

Also, when sending an e-mail, it gives the error whose picture I have attached. How can I solve this?

Hi DavidGG, I'm using the latest version of Thunderbird, but about every 5 minutes get this: Thunderbird is not responding If you close the program, you might loose information. → Close the program → Wait for the program to responding Then I choose “Close the program” and have to restart. How can I fix this problem? Regards, Werner

Only just started with Thunderbird, so hope this isn't a daft question...

Am now setting up events in the calendar. I can see how to tag events for a wide range of categories (too many perhaps), but is it possible to highlight events in different colours, please?

Outlook doesn't let you do this, but the Google calendar lets you mark them up in different block colours - v useful for showing at a glance which family members are involved in which events - a bit like the old-style office wall planners.

I want to build an extension, that will have a custom table shown, instead of the default one with Subject, Correspondents, Date, I would like to have for example, Name, User, Status. I've managed to add custom column, but i cannot remove the default ones. So my question is, is that even possible to do? Could i somehow create my own html or xul, that will be rendered in the threadPane view instead of the default one? Is there some kind of a function that i can access when im creating an extension.

I am running Thunderbird 128 (any version) on a Surface Pro 9 running Windows 11. After sleep/hibernate or going into energy-saving mode, TB hangs for a period of minutes. Eventually it comes back, but it can take 5-10 minutes.

I do not have this problem with TB 115 on the same machine, or TB 128 on other machines (e.g. running Windows 10 or Ubuntu). TB 115 on the same machine can take a few seconds to come back (longer than on my other machines), but that s OK.

I have the same expereince whether or not I am troubleshoot mode. I have created a new profile with no add-ons (and less acounts) and I have the same problem. I was wondering if it is something to do with the fact that I have 8000 folders, and somehow TB is hanging while it checks all the folders. That account is a fastmail IMAP connection, but I have experienced similar on a backup Microsoft Exchange account (again an IMAP connection) with similar number of folders.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have been trying to sync my google caledar with Thunderbird on my win 11 PC. Have two calendar registrated on Thunderbird. On the standar "calendar" the other is under my Gmail acount. If I recive an invitation from outside I can't chose to which calendar I want to ad the invitation to. But if I send from my own E-mail (not Gmail) via Outlook on the PC. Thunderbird gives me the option to chose to which calendar to ad the invitation to. I have open the Google calendar and copied the "shared link" from Google and tried to ad that when creating a new calendar in Thunderbird. But when pasting the link into URL place I'm asked for "PSW". But when typing my Gmail PSW it just anwers " not working..." Obviusly I'm missing something. So please, can anyone explain all nesessary steps needed in order to make a possible sync between google calendar and Thunderbird.

I would like to install Thunderbird in current version (135.0.1) via flatpak. My OS is Ubuntu 24.04.2.

Currently, I have installed Thunderbird version 128.7.1esr via flatpak. I was not able to change the branch from stable to release. Can you give me some advice?

Thunderbird Problem: For many years I have been using the Thunderbird mail client currently in ver. 128.7.0esr (32 bit) on S.O. Windows 10 Home Update 22H2 (OS Build 19045.5487), 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor. I have a couple of mail accounts, one of mine and one of my wife. My problem is that for a few days now (about 5 or 6 days) on the InBox folder of my account, only mine, I have not been able to compact the folder. When I try to compact it, the response message is always the following: <The Inbox folder on "my_account_name@gmail.com" cannot be compacted because it is not possible to write to it. Verify that you have enough disk space and have write privileges, then try again> On my disk the available space is 121 Gb on C: where the program with the InBox folders resides and 266 Gb where the data stored in custom folders resides. The write privileges are always the same, never changed, of Administrator. I have already tried the path of "repairing the folder" and re-indexing the folder, but without success. Il mio problema è che da qualche giorno in qua (circa 5 o 6 giorni) sulla cartella InBox del mio account, solo del mio, non riesco ad eseguire la compattazione della cartella. Al tentativo di compattarla il messaggio di risposta è sempre il seguente: <La cartella Posta in arrivo su "nome_mio_account@gmail,com" non può essere compattata in quanto non è possibile scriverci. Verificare di avere spazio su disco sufficiente e avere privilegi di scrittura, quindi riprovare> Sul mio disco lo spazio disponibile è di 121 Gb su C: dove risiede il programma con le cartelle InBox e di 266 Gb dove risiedono i dati archiviati in cartelle personalizzate. I privilegi di scrittura sono sempre quelli, mai cambiati, di Amministratore. Ho già tentato la strada della "riparazione della cartella" e della re-indicizzazione della cartella, ma senza successo. For years I had a search folder at the top of my folder pane. I forget where it was exactly but it was no more than 3rd from the top, possibly under "Inbox". Today it somehow disappeared. So I've re-created the search folder, but now it's in alphabetical position, which puts it near the bottom. I know I can rename it with something like "aaa" to move it up, but is there another way? I tried marking it as a Favorite, but the Favorite Folder pane just appears at the bottom - so no help. I'm using v. 128.7.1 esr 64 bit.
