Not sure if this is a Firefox issue or in conjunction with the other system updates.

My Firefox is using a lot of data; I don’t know why.

I am not using Firefox, and it is not running in the background, yet it is always using the internet. So what do I need to do in this situation? I tried to stop the internet connection using outbound rules, but it did not work. It is still using the internet. What is the reason my browser has high data usage? I have high data usage; in fact, in the past 12 days, we've used 30+ GB of data.

A few days ago, I noticed erratic behavior in Firefox while connected to my RBC account. As an example, I can't login to RBC without problems, but several links on subsequent pages won't load. Also, when I hit the exit button to sign out, the process fails. RBC tells me that in recent weeks they made changes on their end to some security aspects of their site. I have no problems accessing that site in safari, but Firefox is my preferred browser. I'm hoping this is something Mozilla can look into. I doubt that I'm the only one having a problem.

Hi,

Since yesterday (maybe related to the update to Version 128.6.1esr which occured yesterday at 2pm) my Thunderbird is really slow retrieving the emails from all my inboxes. Previously the progress messages in the bottom left corner went by really quickly when opening Thunderbird, but now this process takes about 5-10 seconds to complete. It looks like a slow network connection, but that is not the case.

I have not changed anything, restarted my PC, cleared the Thunderbird Cache, disabled my Anti-Virus/Firewall, but to no avail.

Is this related to the last update or/and is there something i can do to fix that?

Thanks

I have trouble going on to my cell phone without being constantly interrupted by games which I am able to push off when opened in cards. However this originally was not the case. It was freezing and blocking all on the phone until I got some removed. Now this has started up after a time lapse of nothing. I think Fake Firefox now as well as hrome. I have no issues in Windows or Edge. Also fake Playstore and Malware issues. I am no authority on computer and issues. I only know and report what is happening to me. All this after a new modem was installed. Possible. Let me know if I am offended

Thanks.

Trivial example of "weird" behaviour:

I have an Adobe Reader window open and a Google Chrome window open on my screen. I click on Firefox to open another window and both the Adobe and the Chrome windows are removed from my screen. No tiling. Just moved away. I can get the Adobe and/or Chrome window back, but then Firefox "disappears." This makes Firefox unusable for me. I have NOT changed any of my Firefox settings in probably years. Help please.

Hi, I have an HTML page - currently on the desktop PC - that contains a few graphics (they relate to IPA sounds) and a bit of javascript which will make the sounds play when the user mouses-over the graphic, and stop on mouse-out. The script uses <embed> tags. I know these arent favoured but I think they should still work, as they have in the past, so the script itself is fine. But there is no sound (obviously I have checked the src is correct and made sure the speakers are on and working. They are.) W10, FF ver 128.6.0esr (64-bit)

I have Thunderbird set to 1. fetch headers only and to 2. leave messages on server 3. until I delete them when I press the "Get Messages" button to get the headers from my POP mail account. I generally delete about half of the headers before downloading any messages and then generally delete most or the messages I've just downloaded and read.

The next time I push the "Get Messages" button, the number of recieved messages is generally incorrect. It's as if Thunderbird is asking the server for the number of new messages before deleting the messages I have deleted on my computer from the server.

Thought someone should know.

Note: Empty trash on exit is also checked.

Hi

I just bought a new MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.2 and one of the first things I did was install Firefox as my primary browser (I am running 134.0.2). I prefer Firefox over Chrome and Safari. I am having two issues and can not figure out how to fix the settings and don't want to guess and open myself up to privacy/security settings concerns. I have tried looking in the Knowledge base but am not seeing what I specifically should do....and would really like your help.

  1. 1. I used to be able to go to a website where I have an Account and "Sign In with Google." Now if I try to do that....it seems to be TRYING but never connects.... :-(. I did install your
  1. 2. I used to be able to "insert a photo" (png file) into an email (Gmail)...and now it says "Error Occurred." Can you please help me with whatever settings I need to change to fix this issue??

When I open Safari and try these exact same tasks, it will let me with no problem. So I know the issue has to do with my Firefox settings.....

Thanks for any help you can provide.

My laptop (a Lenovo Ideapad220s) did an automatic Windows 11 update (I believe it was the 2H24 update). After that Firefox (version 133, 64 bit) would only open with the message "Gah. Your tab just crashed". Nothing I tried has worked, not any of the remedies found in support pages. I somehow did a Firefox software update and it shows as a separate icon and has not migrated any of the passwords and bookmarks I had in the software version that keeps crashing (my default browser). Trying to get access to the encrypted passwords to the many sites I've got with Firefox I opened the browser in troubleshooting mode. In this mode I have access to all the passwords saved over time, and the browser seems to work fine.

Any suggestions on what I need to fix or if this is related to the Windows update? I'd like not to have to go through the two-step process to use the browser.

Thanks!

I run a little server at (let's call it) nc.example.com, for external access I use Cloudflare tunnel/proxy and have no issues, but for internal LAN access I have a little nginx reverse proxy with a Let's Encrypt certificate on it and custom internal DNS.

With Firefox (only Firefox; curl, Chrome, and Edge have no problem), the first time I browse to the site (after opening Firefox, of after not interacting with the site for a couple of minutes) I get the SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN error after a wait of about 30 seconds, the site uses HSTS, so Firefox refuses to talk to it. Pressing Ctrl-F5 after getting the error loads the site as if nothing happened.

What is really annoying is that the Advanced info shows "Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for nc.example.com. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.example.com, example.com"

I get pretty much the same result if I use a certificate just issues for nc.example.com or for "nc.example.com,example.com".

Probably related, but with different results, if I use a certificate issued to "nc.example.com,*.nc.example.com", Firefox immediately tries to go to www.nc.example.com, which doesn't exist.

Note I have looked at the results of clicking on SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN in the error page and did a character-by-character comparison of the PEM format certificate displayed there with the actual full chain PEM certificate file on the web server and they are identical.

A message that the browser doesn't trust a site because it has a certificate not valid for SITE-A, and then says the certificate is only valid for SITE-A sure seems like a bug to me.
