I frequently go to Allexperts.com which has experts on almost any topic imaginable. The last month or two has been frustrating,as I have gotten no answers to my questions at all.The way the website works is that you submit a question, and Allexperts immediately sends a confirmation email with a copy of the question.Several days later,a notification that my question has been answered is emailed to me.None of this has happened in the last two months, and yes,I have checked my junk email folder.I even emailed the webmaster about it,and HE didn't respond to me.I thought I was being blackballed for some reason.Anyway,it occurred to me FF might be at fault,so today I asked a question on the Allexperts site using an alternate browser,"Aviator",and as I write this,my question has been answered-I just got a reply in my Hotmail inbox.Has anyone had this problem besides me,and what could possibly be wrong? Thanks.

I haven't heard of this problem, but I don't read every question... too many questions...

Are all your questions listed on a page where you can cross-check in another browser whether any of your Firefox questions got posted?

These are general suggestions for problems with sites:

(1) Instead of using an old bookmark, in case the site has changed its pages, enter through the front page. Save a new bookmark to the page where you normally like to start.

(2) To address possible corrupted files in Firefox cache or cookie database:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

Clear Firefox's cache using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
  • "3-bar" menu button > History > Clear Recent History... (only cache)

If you have a large hard drive, this might take several minutes.

Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

(3) To check for a possible add-on conflict:

In case one of your extensions is involved, test the site in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run

After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).

Any difference?

Thanks very much! Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now" did the trick!
