Friends are reporting new requests from me to add them as Friends. My daughter has received an odd message supposedly from me, but I did not send it.
How do I check who is doing this and how do I remedy the situation?

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller:
Are these messages coming through Facebook? Possibly someone guessed or stole your password. If you haven't changed it already, it would be a really good idea to do that. Please see: https://www.facebook.com/help/748385731848104
And it also would be a good idea to change the password for the email account linked to your Facebook account, since a bad actor could use that account to reset your Facebook password and take over your profile.
