how can i restore my bookmarks on a new hardrive?

my laptop took a fall and the hard drive was broken, i was not able to get any data from it but i got a new one and all my bookmarks, history, cookies, etc... are gone, i never had a mozilla sync account before i got this new hard drive but had a google account is there any way i can restore any of my bookmarks?

(note--i use a gateway laptop, linux with a new hard drive and running ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac:<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML,

You can recover more personal data.
