When I open history I can't minimise the firefox window.

When using Firefox if I open History 2 things happen. Firstly, I can't close or reduce the size History. As well as that, the middle 'amber' button to shrink Firefox becomes unresponsive and turns grey.

I'm using a MacBook Pro with el Capitan.
