my drop down address is not working
When I type an email address the drop down menu appears but I am no longer able to click on one. I now have to type in the full email address every time. Any idea why I can no longer select from the drop down?

"No longer"? So it used to work? What changes can you think of might have happened? These issues are often related to an improperly imported address book, but you haven't mentioned any such actions.
As an experiment, what happens if you select addresses via the Contacts Sidebar at the left?
I see three other users reporting what might be similar issues. What version of Thunderbird are you using, and what OS?
