I have PC running Windows Vista and using the native Microsoft Mail. I have purchased a new PC running Windows 10 and would like to use Thunderbird email client. How can I export my emails from the Vista PC to Thunderbird on my new Windows 10 PC ? All advice appreciated. Cheers.

What you want is in this article: Importing and exporting your mail

Alternatively, you can use MailStore Home, which is a free program, to archive the messages on the old computer, then export them to Thunderbird on the new computer. The method in the article I mentioned above is more direct, though.

Thanks for your reply Bruce. I ended up exporting emails from Vista/Mail as .eml into another folder on a USB thumb drive and simply copying the emails into Thunderbird on my new computer running Windows 10. They have all transferred across and are able to be read in Thunderbird. Dead easy in the end. Cheers Ian
