I had a pop up appear after I closed out my browser offering to install "Search Assit Extension" to protect privacy. I thought this was included in the browser and I wanted to know if this was a legitimate program from Mozilla I need to install or a scam.

Hi   !
As you have malware installed on your computer, you need to do a malware check :

Scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

All these programs have free versions.

• Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

• AdwCleaner: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Removal-Tools/AdwCleaner.shtml

• SuperAntispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/

• Microsoft Safety Scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

• Windows Defender: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-defender

Thanks for this info, I will keep it for later. Fortunatly I did not click on the thing, It was extremely well done and looked very much like it could be from Mozzilla. They need to be aware that this scam is operating and is dangerous and put out some warnings. I alwys check now before I click on anything. Thanks again and God bless.
