Why is Firefox 57.0 (64-bit) so painfully slow? (Took several minutes to key in this sentence!)
Have been using Firefox as my browser for a number of years. With the upgrade to Firefox 57.0 (64-bit) all sites are painfully slow, about 10 times slower than previous versions. Writing e-mails (I mainly use Yahoo) is a real chore... typing text and seeing what goes into the e-mail is extremely slow. Kind of like typing blindfolded. Other sites I visit are slow to load, and the tabs and top sites visited are not displaying like they did in earlier versions. Firefox is running on an HP Desktop computer; AMD A8-3800 APU with Radeon (tm) HD Graphics 2.40 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, 64-bit Operating System (Window 10 Home), x64-based processor, and a 1.5 TB hard drive. Computer is connected to a Gigabyte high speed network, so Internet connectivity has not been an issue. Need help and suggestions on how to speed up Firefox 57.0 or I will be forced to abandon your browser and go with one that works!

Could you please go to the Firefox Menu 3 Bars (far right top) then--> Help --> Troubleshooting Information. Please take a look in the Accessibility Section if Accessibility is set to "True" there. If yes, can you please Go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security then under Permissions check the setting to prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.
Please update your Video Card Drivers AMD Radeon HD 6550D driverDate: 8-21-2015 (last updated) So this may have to be updated by manufacturers update software as not heard of a D before or https://support.amd.com/en-us/download, Keep them updated please as old and or corrupted drivers can cause a wide range of problems.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
