Delete to local trash folder when using IMAP
As far as I know there is no option to delete to the local trash folder when using an IMAP account. This is a problem when using gmail, since gmail deletes mail from the trash after a month.
I thought of a work-a-round: Add a filter to save a copy of everything that comes in to the Local trash folder. I don't think you can use the * for all mail, so I said that anything that does not have yuioyoituyqhlkjaflkjbvcnb in the subject should go be copied to the trash folder. That way when I delete it from the IMAP inbox, I will still have a copy in my local trash folder.

Well Gmail isn't a Mozilla product thus Mozilla has no control of how it does it's setting. Maybe you should contact Gmail support on this issue.
