sent box problem
I'm using 2 Gmail accounts with TB for the last 4 years. The first account:
Sent mails box is looking good and updated, except for duplicate messages .
The second one:
Since March 27', TB doesn't save mails on the "Sent" box.
Sent messages are all in the "All mail" box, but unfortunately I can't even manually transfer them to the "Sent" box. The blue circle (on the first line) spinning endlessly in the outgoing window. I checked the "Sent" box on Gmail and found it perfectly updated. I tried to unchecked the "save messages to......." - but no success. I consider to reinstall TB, but I'm not sure if is the appropriate answer.
I would appreciate any help. TB version: 52.7.0 (32 bit) OS: Windows XP pro sp3
Many thanks in advance, Noam

Am I the only one who have that problem? I've been waiting for TB support team reply for the last 6 days, but i didn't receive any. Please help me to solve that problem as soon as possible. Thanks in advance, Noam
Thunderbird support is provided by other Thunderbird users that volunteer their time to help. When someone has the answer and the time to work on it you get help.
2 copies of saved messages. Gmail already saves a copy of sent messages so tell Thunderbird to stop. Right click the account in the Folder pane on the left side. Select Settings. Go to Copies and Folders. Remove the check from Place a Copy in:
Cannot see gmail sent folder. Are you subscribed to it? Go to File-Subscribe The Sent folder listed right under Inbox is the Thunderbird folder. Make sure you are subscribed to the one listed under gmail.

Hi Airmail, I sincerely appreciate your effort to help me and others users. A: Removing the "check" mark from "Place a copy in…."- It was already done, but as I mentioned with no success. I would like to indicate that on the other account, the "check" mark is on, and the sent folder functioning well (except duplicating of sent messages).
B: Gmail sent folder I can see it while using TB. It worked well until March 27. From that date on, sent messages are not placing in the sent folder, all of them are on "all mail" folder with no way even manually to deliver them back to the sent folder. Coping procedure, while sending emails, seems to work fine, based on the popup small window usually appeared.
Is reinstalling TB is a good idea?
Any further assist will be more than welcome.
Respectfully, Noam
Go ahead and reinstall. It will not hurt but rarely fixes anything.

What is the appropriate way to reinstall TB, any precaution to consider? Do i need to delete the profile folder?
I would like to know if there is other more effective way than reinstalling.
Thanks allot Noam
Thunderbird program is separate from your data in the profile. If you delete your profile all your settings, emails and address books are gone. If that is what you want go for it. I would make a backup of your profile just in case and just reinstall Thunderbird. Making normal backups are a good practice anyway. Here is the info about your profile. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data

With some hesitations, the magic touch was - "fix the folder" (Right click on 'Sent' mail box). Required some repairs afterwards. Since then, it works like a charm. Thank you for sharing your time in trying to solve that issue. All the best Noam
