Firefox fails to load YouTube videos on refresh/re-visit

First attempt to play a video plays instantly, but clicking any video I've viewed since a cache clear or if I refresh the page, the videos load shifted to the right (no sidebar video list). After a second, the sidebar loads in pushing the video to the 'normal' position, and as soon as this happens the video--that has played around 1 second--fails.

I have disabled all addons, refreshed firefox, disabled HW accel. Starting Firefox in safemode completely breaks it and I can't even navigate to a page, let alone test YouTube. I've reinstalled only 2 of the addons I had before since they're clearly not the issue.

Win10 1803, Firefox Quantum 61, Nvidia GTX 1080ti (driver WHQL 398.36)

Hi, since you say Safe Mode breaks it and can not do anything let's try this with the Full Version Installer :

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove your Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. This process does not remove your Firefox profile data (such as bookmarks and passwords), since that information is stored in a different location.

To do a clean reinstall of Firefox, please follow these steps: Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.

  1. Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from this page) and save the setup file to your computer.
  2. After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (or open the Firefox menu New Fx Menu and click the close button Close 29).
  3. Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    • Windows:
      • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    • Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    • Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
  4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    1. Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    2. Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

Doing so could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. Thank you for the posts; clean reinstall appears to have fixed the videos breaking; that being said the whole shifting of the video behavior is still present. I don't remember if it did that before my issue, so it may be nothing, but I'm worried it's a temporary fix.

For now, I'm going to mark your response as a solution. Hopefully it stays that way, because I really, really don't want to go back to Chrome, ever.
