Thunderbird used to show number of emails in each folder. That feature has disapeared. How do I get it back?

I want to see the total number of emails in each folder. Thunderbird used to show how many emails were in a folder when you went to the folder. During one of the upgrades this disappeared. I would like to get this feature back. Any way to do it?

View/Layout/Folder Pane Columns; press Alt if the Menu Bar with View is hidden. Click the widget on the columns bar to enable Unread, Size or Total.
