why do I have to sign in to google to be able to use firefox?
I got a new cell phone, and every time I open firefox while connected through wi-fi, it won't open the browser unless I sign in to google? Why would google have anything to do with opening firefox? This makes no sense. If I wanted to use google or chrome, I would, but I don't. The phone is not active yet, just use wi-fi for now.

Hi
I do not think that this is an issue with Firefox for Android. For an Android device to get updates from the Google Play store, you will need to have a Google account.
I get updates. When I click the firefox icon to go online, google asks me to sign into google. I can not use firefox at all unless I sign into google. When I click the firefox icon on my android phone, a pop up happens. It asks me to sign into google. There is no "skip" no "deny" no nothing. If I go back, it does it again. So yes, there is an issue with firefox for android. I also checked the box beside "make firefox your default browser" and it still does it. How do I fix this?

Hi
Do you have a Google Account set up on this device?
While on first run of Firefox for Android we do mention setting up a Firefox Account (which you do not have to do), we do not have or need for you to set up a Google account to use Firefox for Android.
I have a google account on this phone. How can I set up an firefox account on the cell phone if I can't open firefox? We seem to be going in circles. I would post a video starting from pressing the firefox icon and immediately it goes to google sign in. The fox logo pops up in the middle, but it's gone real fast.

Hi Nightowl
I recommend that you uninstall Firefox for Android and reinstall it from the Google Play store.
If you are still seeing the same behaviour, please take a screenshot by pressing the power and volume down buttons on your device and (when accessing this forum on a desktop computer) attach it to a reply.
I went ahead and reset the phone again. Back to normal for now.
