Where is the folder with my browsing history stored?
Hello.
I have a question. In which folder is my Firefox browsing history stored, please?
I ask because I want to create a kind of "browsing diary", and tried to export my browsing history via Mozilla History View. But it couldn't find the folder with my browsing history.
I'm working from a WINDOWS 7 64 Bit computer, and my Firefox version is Firefox 74.0 64 Bit. With those specifications, where do I look for the folder with my browsing history?
Thanks in advance for any answers, and have a great Sunday!

Hello andreaskrauss.1972
Would you please take a look at this article :

Any good ?
Hello McCoy,
thank you for the answer. But unfortunately, it wasn't helpful at all.
I already have a 64 Bit version of Mozilla History View, yet it proved unable to find and export the browser history.
And I just don't get Mozilla's "profiles" nonsense, so directing me to a post that would force me to learn and utilize Mozilla's profiles stuff is worse than useless, since I'm trying to export my history without having to utilize profiles.
Surely all WIN 7 (64 Bit) installations are largely identical? If yes, there must be a "standard location" for the browser history. Some specific location I can simply cut and paste in my windows explorer and/or the Mozilla History view navigator.
Can't no one tell me the exact address of that location? Without merely directing me to yet another damnable profile instructions, which aren't helpful to me at all?
Firefox stores all your personal data in the profile folder and if you only have one profile folder the the Nirsoft utility will locate this profile folder and allows to inspect and export your history.
You can find the location of the main profile folder listed on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page and on the about:profiles page. These pages also have a button to go to this location.
Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder, so make sure to look in the correct location.
Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data (Root Directory on about:profiles) in a hidden location in "\AppData\Roaming".
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
Hello andreaskrauss.1972,
The information is stored in the profile in the file labelled places.sqlite - It is a database file. To find this file - go to Help -- Troubleshooting Information and in the next window search down the left column for Profile Folder - there is the complete URL to the folder and a button to open the folder - you may find more than one places file - I have three - one with the sqlite extension - one with sqlite-shm and one with sqlite-wal
I believe that the history is stored in the file without the extra extensions. If you point your history viewer to that file, it should work

Your question was :
"In which folder is my Firefox browsing history stored, please? "
The answer is in the first article I gave you a link to (and also mentioned by cor-el and gild).
I'm sorry to hear that you don't find it at all helpful; I don't know what else to suggest.
Sorry ....
'Couldn't let it go just yet, and wanted to ask you if maybe going to the
Library (Ctrl + Shift + H) might help ?

No, actually, part of each profile folder name is randomized to prevent guessing. This is for your protection. So no one who doesn't have hands on your computer (or remote access to your computer) can tell you the exact name of your currently active profile folder. But you can find it in a few seconds on the Troubleshooting Information (about:support) page, as mentioned in earlier article McCoy provided, or cor-el's instructions, or gild's message.
Now, also, why Firefox 74? Can we solve an issue that's holding you back from updating?
