Default identity for Local Folders
This is a similar question to an older thread (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1200771).
I recently deleted the account (ACCOUNT1) that was associated with Local Folders (for many years!). I am using a different account (ACCOUNT2) for Local Folders and have set it as the default account in the Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings. However, in spite of the fact that ACCOUNT2 is set as the default and is bold and all that, the email account listed above it (ACCOUNT3) is the default sending address when I click "Write" from Local Folders. Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this?

Select account 2 in the left pane, then Account Actions at the bottom of the pane, Set as Default.

Just to clarify, I am not using the "Manually Sort Folders" add-on.
Local Folders is not associated with any particular mail account, and cannot be removed or set as the default, so I don't understand your description. All accounts are in bold in the Folder Pane and Account Settings, but the default account is underlined and at the top of the left pane of Account Settings. Perhaps you could post a picture of Account Settings, obscuring any private data.
Sorry if what I wrote was not clear.
Let me describe what I want to happen that is not happening:
- While in Local Folders (such as the Inbox), if I click "Write" to write an email, I want Thunderbird to use the default email address as the "From" address (Account2).
- However, the default account/address in Outgoing Server Settings (Account2) is not chosen. Rather, Account3 is chosen.
The screenshot shows that Account2 is selected as the default outgoing account.
Is account 2 the Default in Tools/Account Settings, i.e. it is at the top of the left pane and underlined? That will determine which account appears in From, not the default smtp.
No, it is not at the top and underlined. How can I change that?

Ha ha! You'd think I would have tried that. I remember seeing it, but ...
Thanks for your help!
