I use my desktop computer for email. The email was also received on my iPad. I didn't want the limited iPad memory filled with my emails. So I deleted the inbox on my iPad email, not knowing that this would also delete the inbox on my desktop. The deleted emails are not in my trash or deleted bins. This happened a few days ago. Is there a way to recover the inbox on my desktop?

If the account was setup as IMAP on both devices, any action, such as deletion, on one device is performed on the other devices. See if you can recover the messages through the webmail access.

Most mobile mail apps, such as on an iPad, have a setting to keep only the last week or few weeks of mail on the device, without affecting the total amount of mail on the mail server.

This did not work. I went to my webmail but could not find the lost emails. Do you have any other suggestions, or am I dead in the water?

Do you have a backup of the profile or even just the mail folders? If not, and the messages aren't anywhere, including the TB Trash, you're probably out of luck.
