When i have an email open in a new window, and I reply to the email, the Headers do not display.

The headers are the From , Reply-To , To and Subject fields.

I have to resize the window to get the headers visible.

it looks like the paint event does not paint the screen (for a lack of a better description)

The email body area displays properly.

I'm using Debian GNU/Linux bookworm/sid

5.16.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 5.16.7-2 (2022-02-09) x86_64 GNU/Linux

With Mate desktop

Thunderbird version is 91.6.0 (64-bit)

Menu app icon (3 lines) >Help > More TroubleShooting Information Half way down is 'Profile Folder' - Click on 'Open Directory'

A new window opens showing contents of 'profile name' folder

Exit Thunderbird now - this is important.

Scroll, locate and delete the following files: > session.json > xulstore.json

Start Thunderbird

Test opening Write window.

That did not help, but highlighted some more details.

This only happens when the email popup window and the reply popup window is in maximized state, if the window is not full screen, it works fine.

Another try this.

open preferences. search hardware and change the use hardware acceleration when available option. There is no right or wrong (Driver dependent) so change it from what it is an restart, see if that invokes a change.
