Since last few days, whenever i want to save a file from Gmail, it is taking me to that one folder (destination) which i had used few days ago, probably before the latest update.

I navigate and go to the folder i want to save the file in and then finish the download.

But unlike before, the next document which i am trying to download, opens the download box to save in the old folder (not even the default "downloads" folder) instead of the folder in which i have saved the file moments ago.

I have checked the settings and everything is okay there.

This has severely impacted my working and is causing immense inconvenience.

Is this a bug? Do i need to reset my firefox? Please help!

The last download location is tracked for each domain separately in the permissions database. You can clear it by opening the History sidebar (Ctrl+H), right-click on site > "Forget About This Site".
