Greetings, for some reason lately over the last couple weeks I have noticed that when I open a link to a site that I've had in my bookmarks for years it now opens that link or that page and then within a couple seconds another tab will open for advertisement or possibly even the duplication of the originally called upon link in the previous tab. I would like to stop these additional tabs from opening automatically without my request.

thanks in advance,

Mike VIkdal mvikdal@yahoo.com

Website addresses can change over time, you might need to update the bookmark or delete the old one and create a new one.

You can block all popups by going to about:config and clearing dom.popup_allowed_events.

I cleared this and it still does the same. I was on my Yahoo sports page and clicked a link for a basketball team and then this tab popped up: https://www.thompsoncigar.com/?cnxclid=17001438038280394703018531120008005

I have not had any elicit sites as of yet, but that too is a major concern of mine if I were at a customers site.

Please advise and thank you for your quick response.
