I succeeded in installing Firefox after getting this message. I went to add/remove programs to verify that Firefox wasn't on the list, then I went to the program files directory and deleted the Mozilla/Firefox directory that was left over from the uninstall. I attempted to reinstall Firefox and, voila, it installed with no issues. I know it can be dangerous to delete a program directory, but if you have properly uninstalled the program itself and it isn't in the add/remove list (but still exists in the program directory), deleting the parent directory for the program should affect system performance. I have done this dozens of times over the years and never had a problem (I have NEVER deleted a system directory though. That would be a BAD idea). I hope this helps. /CDNVIKING
