For NYTimes website, I am asked for Stanford laneproxy, even though I have cleared all history in Tools, and set "No Proxy" in Preferences; what can I do to not require proxy?
Once four months ago, I used my Stanford SUNet ID which allowed me to enter a restricted NYTimes database. Ever since then, whenever I want to read an article in the daily NYTimes email that I receive, I have had to enter my Stanford ID and password. This password is called the "laneproxy".
As mentioned in my question, I have tried all I know to do to eliminate the requirement of a proxy. I have to enter it each day to read the NYTimes article (not for each article).
Prior to four months ago when I entered a Stanford password to reach a restricted database of the NYTimes, I never had to enter a password to get access to a NYTimes article.
