this happens for FF4 and new Yahoo mail, the reply and forward button do not work. however, without selecting any email and click either reply or forward, they seem to work saying i have to choose an email first.
i found out that in another PC of mine, the buttons work. Both use Vista, FF4. i have updated to the latest FF, still the same. i tried restarting FF in safe mode, still the same. frustrating! my wife decided to switch back to the old yahoo mail. i stayed on with the new yahoo mail, at least to test it. i use yahoo mail from the other PC, or via Safari in my iPAD. so seems to be specific to this PC, but why FF4 and new Yahoo only? thanks for your help!

just want to add another info. on this same PC, IE9 works.
