When I launch Firefox 4.0.1 I get an error message that says "We noticed your may have signed inor signed out in another window. Click Ok to reload your page." I deleted Firefox and reloaded it - did not solve the problem. This started occurring after I downloaded Windows Service Pack 2. I have Vista 7 OS. So every time I close and relaunch Firefox, I have to sign in with my username and password. Very very, annoying. If I can't get this corrected, I have to start using another Browser. Thanks for your help. Richard

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Thanks for your reply.
I did both - however it didn't solve the problem.

Try to clear the "Active Logins" via Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox (Shift + Ctrl + Delete)
Hi,
Refresh my memory - where do I find "Active Logins" ?
Thanks
Richard
You can find it in Firefox > History > Clear Recent History or in Tools > Clear Recent History if the menu bar is visible (press F10).

Ok. Cleared the "Active Logins" too. Cleared everything.
Relaunched Firefox. Problem still persists. Had same error message and had to sign in again to get to my homepage.
Very annoying.
I do appreciate your help.
Richard
It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).
See:
Deleted sessionstore and sessionstore.bak or at least I thought I did.
When I re-opened Firefox - the same sign-in problem was there.
When I looked under Help>Troubleshooting Information>Profile Directory sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak had returned to the list of files.
Also, I didn't see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
