When i updated Firefox to version 9.01, my experience of the browser is that its generally slower (running on a HP Envy 15") than previous version. I tried the Beta 10 and the same problems occur. However, if I restart Firefox in safe mode, all the problems vanish (and so do all the features like bookmarks etc.).

I have run all updates for my computer I could find including mouse drivers, chipset and processor drivers. If I dont get this solved I'm afraid Il have to convert to another browser or try and reinstall an older Firefox version.

Try turning off hardware acceleration:

  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options
  2. Select the Advanced panel
  3. Select the General tab
  4. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration where available.
  5. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (File menu in Windows XP) and then click Exit. Start Firefox normally. .

Yes, I've tried that. When i had it on, the whole graphic concept of firefox failed. However my problem occurs when Hardw. Acc. is Off. Therefor its something else that causes my problem.
