Since updating from firefox3.xxx, every time I open the browser, Welcome to Firefox and my home page opens.How do I get "welcome" to stop opening? AND all the colors are missing from the menu bar text, only white on the arrows, reload, "house" icon etc.

My problem was solved with Matt_G 's idea. My preference's were not disappearing, just pushed aside...............Bill
