Why does FireFox 13 works differently on my desktop and Laptop? On my desktop I have the old menu system which I prefer but on my laptop, it's the new version.

FireFox 13 is the default browser on both my desktop and laptop, however, they have different menu systems. Why?

On my desktop, I have the old menu system which I definitely prefer because everything is in English and easy to see/find. For example, on the desktop menu there is a Tools option where I can quickly clear my recent history and the cache.

But on my laptop, it has the new paradigm where many menu commands are hidden and hard to find, therefore, I don't like this new design. I don't understand why Firefox made this change when the old system was much better and more efficient.

Is there a way I can get the old menu system back on my laptop?

Thanks

1. I am not using XP, I'm using Win 7 on both systems.

2. Nothing happened when I pressed the ALT key, the menu bar did not show up and I got frustrated. However, I kept trying, holding down the ALT key and finally, it appeared. I then checked Menu Bar and it appears as if that worked.

Thanks for your help.

alternatively you can right click on the home button & select the menu bar

edit: ok, i see that you've solved it anyway!

Madperson, thanks for the nifty tip. That works much better than holding down the ALT key which was hit and miss for me, most of it miss. For the most part, holding down the ALT key didn't work so this is quicker and easier.

I still don't understand why FireFox hides the Menu Bar as the default. That makes it so much hard to find various commands.

Thanks again.
