You can check the plugins here:
i got a message that read that some plug-ins were vulnerable i"m asking you if this is a legit message or not. or is it some virus scam?
If you get a pop-up while you are on a web page then this may not be legitimate and you should never proceed.
Always check out the website of that plugin to be sure to get the latest version.
Did the plugin check page come up with any plugins that need to be updated?
That depends on did the message come from the right people, or a hacker. There is no way to tell until its too late. If you get a message to update, go to the home web site of the program in question. This way, you get the true update,.
when i opened firefox i got the message that plug-in was vulnerble and needed to be updated. is this a legit message from firefox/
Hi tafcards, there are many places/ways that messages could display, including:
- An "infobar" that appears below the toolbar area. Often these are messages from Firefox itself, but web pages can spoof the appearance of an infobar.
- Pop-up dialogs. Again, it may be difficult to tell whether a dialog is from Firefox or from the page.
In some cases, a screen shot may be helpful in getting a second opinion.

You probably won't be surprised to learn there is an update for the Flash player ("Shockwave Flash").
