When I sign in to Google groups, then select one of my groups, I get into an "infinite redirect loop." The page hangs, "Redirecting" appears in the page title, and at the bottom it says (alternating) "waiting for google.com" or "waiting for groups.google.com". I have Firefox 3.6.3, which I think is latest and greatest.

This problem has been reported to Google and you can see the discussion here: http://groups.google.com/group/is-something-broken/browse_thread/thread/8fb760742f6ce7ba/f7065d7bd3499f65#f7065d7bd3499f65

You go to the Google Groups help forum, look at "Is something broken" discussion, and look further for "Infinite Redirect Loop." This may be a problem that only affects moderators.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with Firefox, Google groups, or the interaction.

Issue seemed to clear itself yesterday. I updated to Firefox 3.6.6 and have no problem so far today.

Problem began after installing latest upgrade to Firefox 3.6.3 on 24 June 2010.

Using:

Win2k SP4 Firefox 3.6.3 updated 6/24/2010 Flash 10.1 updated 6/24/2010

Does not happen in Google's help forum, only the Usenet groups. Such as misc.transport.road or anything that would be considered a Usenet group.

David, Treaded, Lorien:

What version of Firefox are you using? Have you upgraded to 3.6.4, which just came out? I think this problem has been solved for most people (including me) just by clearing out the cookies ONCE and starting over.

I have the same problem. In Firefox 3.6.3, I go to My Groups, sign in then select a group, and it redirects indefinitely.

Do not have the problem with IE. The problem started when I installed 3.6.3. I now have 3.6.6 same problem

I had posted I have the same problem. In Firefox 3.6.3, I go to My Groups, sign in then select a group, and it redirects indefinitely.

I than saw the references to cookies. I went and deleted the google group cookies, restarted and it now lets me into my groups and messages on them.

The update to 3.6.3 must have done something with the way it handled those cookies. Anyway it is an easely solved problem by deleteing the cookies.

I have tried deleting the group.google cookie, and this works, for a while, but as soon as google sets another cookie in my Firefox browser I'm back to the original redirect problem
