Hi,

I seemed to try everything I found at the net, but since I updated to Mac OS Monterey, Chinese and other non Latin Charaters don't show up. It works with Chrome and Safari, What's the problem.

I look forward to you help asap.

Thanks, Carolyn

What font uses other browsers to display those characters ?

This can be caused by a problem with fonts you have installed locally and that might be corrupted or are missing variants.

You can check in Font Book for font issues like corrupted and duplicate fonts.

You can right-click and select "Inspect" to open the built-in Inspector with this element selected.

You can check in the Rules tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font-family is used for selected text. You can check in the Font tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font is actually used because Firefox might be using a different font than specified by the website.

It's all tremendously complicatet. Don't have these problems with Chrome nor Safari.

Ispector indicates Helvetica as replaced by .LastResort. Helvetica seems not corrupted. By disableling Sites to use their own settings nothing changes on Firefox.

Very frustrating.
