lost 'start' and other icons, all I have on screen is this page and a small desktop pic in the center.
I accidently hit some button and my screen icons all left. All that is on my screen is availability to this page and a small desktop pic in the center. No other icons show. I can't open any program.

You probably have solved this by now, but one thought is Firefox's full screen view. The F11 key switches between full screen and normal views.
