Thunderbird freezes when I download, move or delete messages. What do I do?
When I say freeze, it's like a 10 second freeze btw. Every time I download from server, move something to a folder, or simple just delete a message, Thunderbird freezes for a good 10 seconds before I can move on. Say I have to move 5 messages to 5 different folders, that will be 5 freezes. Add in 2 deletes, 2 freezes. That's not counting the good freeze at the start of this whole process.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've ran in safe mode and no fixy :(.
Any ideas?

What is your anti-virus software?
MacAffee
Well, the extension has been disabled for monthes. This has been an off and on program for over a year now, and sometimes it fixes, other times no. With every patch of Thunderbird I sit at the screen, clicking on my email client like its xmas and I'm waiting to open a present.
ummm I did de click scanning email attachments. As for the 3rd option, i have no option in my MacAfee when I do as the instructions say.
MacAfee Security Center ver 12.8 MacAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware ver 16.8 MacAfee Personal Firewall 13.8 MacAfee Site Advisor 3.7 MacAfee Anti Spam 13.8 MacAfee Parental Controls 14.8 MacAfee Quick Clean and Shredder 12.8
For questions wrt McAfee please contact McAfee support or ask in a McAfee forum.
i was directed to your site for a fix, you told me what to do, because you dont have an option, I should go looking across the road at macafee, when its tbird, on updates that either buggers up or fixes. sigh If i knew how to not lose all my emails and folder, I would have deleted this broke thing over a year ago.

The fix is to apply the changes to McAfee suggested in the article.
you told me what to do
Correct.

This is the Thunderbird support forum. If you're having difficulties to apply the changes suggested, again, please contact McAfee. In case it makes you feel any better, you aren't the first one running into this problem, and McAfee are well aware of it. Yet they seem to be unable to fix it.

That's entirely up to you.
