Have you tried running firefox in Safe Mode? If the problem doesn't show up in safe mode, then some plugin(s) might be to blame.

A couple things.

First, Kaspersky has a feature to scan your web traffic, which is seamless for HTTP sites, but requires setup for HTTPS sites. The reason is that both IE and Chrome use the Windows certificate store and Firefox has its own certificate file.

According to help articles that really could be clearer... you can set up Firefox to work with this feature either by having Kaspersky push the certificate to Firefox or using a manual export/import procedure.

Second, the message that cleared after a reload listed "ocsp_old_response" so maybe it was in Firefox's cache? I think reloading was the right strategy for that particular error.

Check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

@jscher2000, its great that Firefox has its own certificate file, which will prevent interdependence issues and agian i dont think this has to with KIS 2015 coz the the same browser works well when sandboxed

@cor-el, this is only root cause i can think of but i have updated timein both Bios AND os with manual sync to time.windows.com and cleared everything and restarted the system upon the restart for first 5 fives minutes i didnt any SSL error but after fives minutes the same issue is repeatedly prompted and i had the same issue on another motherboard which is of diff manufacturer than i am typing from , i thought it was ram issue and but it isnt

Hope you have already found a solution. But if not, check out this thread. Some solutions in there might be helpful, like the "Skip Cert Error" plugin.

Could also try increasing the frequency your computer syncs with time servers.

Replacing the CMOS battery is also an option. If the mainboard is too old, a drained battery could also cause time regularities.

Apparently firefox has some overly restrictive rule concerning ssl timestamps. I am glad I never had this problem before.

It almost sounds that Windows isn't able to keep the time correctly on your computer and gets behind.

Do you notice anything usual like frequent hanging or spending a lot of CPU time in system processes that run at kernel level?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

Hi LaVanderDecken, I'm not familiar with the details of how Sandboxie works; it seems strange to me that security certificates could work differently.

So when it's sandboxed, if you click the padlock icon in the address bar, then More Information, then View Certificate, who is listed under "Issued by" when you are on those sites? For example:

• www.google.com: do you get "Google Internet Authority G2"
• login.yahoo.com: do you get "VeriSign Class 3 Secure Server CA - G3"

Also, could you check your Firefox connection setting here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button

The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" settings. You also could try "No proxy" and see whether that works any differently.
