The access process ends when there is a warning indicating that my browser -Firefox 33 - does not support 128-bit encryption. Is this correct? (I have downloaded Firefox to my Mac as it is supposed to be more easy to work with on e-qip than Safari.)

Firefox does support 128-bit encryption, and will go even higher if the website prefers higher encryption.

All Firefox versions (from below the 1.0 version) have support for AES-256, so 128-bit shouldn't pose a problem. 128 bit shouldn't be used these days.

The opm.gov site is a perfect example of those still stuck in the past as those who still sniff for the U in determining if the browser can support 128-bit or greater encryption. The obsolete U the site is looking for has been missing from Firefox useragent ever since Firefox 4.0 released back in March 2011. You would think they (opm.gov) would have fixed this by now.

None of this helps the average user understand how to get around this.

Some of those average users have jobs on the line.

What do we have to do (in precise steps) to fix this so that the OPM/e-QIP site recognizes Firefox versions above 33 to use the site?
