why am I losing my contacts in my contact list for emails?
Have only just noticed tonight and the last time I remember looking was 6 March 2015. Most of my contact have disappeared along with their addresses etc. Why am I losing them....Virius? How do I get my information back (yes, that's right....no backup). I have retrieved the email addresses from the sent emails, but the other info must be lost.

Not sure why you are losing them. Make a backup now. In Address Book select the address book with contacts Tools > Export save as either LDIF or comma separated.csv file.
which address book are they being lost from? Is it one you created or the default 'Personal Address Book' ?

Thank you Toad-Hall, yes I have done my late backup. With the default address book, I only changed name and added 3 others. The only one that was affected was my everyday normal contact list. The other 3 looked untouched. Just thinking that during the time before addresses went missing I got an upgrade for Thunderbird, Microsoft, and 2 for Adobe. Maybe something there?
My son found the solution for me for Thunderbird. Found my old address book and all the information I thought I'd lost.
