How to set Firefox to open in Gmail when selecting "Email Link"
I am using a PC with (unfortunately) Windows 8. I am also using Firefox version 36.0.4. When I go to "File" and select "Email Link" my PC opens some Microsoft Email account thingy instead of my Gmail. Can someone please tell me how to change the settings so that when I choose "Email Link" in Firefox it opens in Gmail? Thank you.

hello, it should probably be there in the list - so please double-check that... in case it really isn't, try the following: go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, click on profile folder/show folder and close all firefox windows afterwards. a windows explorer window should open up - in there delete the file named mimetypes.rdf - it will be regenerated again the next time you launch the browser.

hello jedwardpappas, you can set your preferred program for opening mailto-links in the firefox ≡ menu under options > applications ... Change the program used to open email links
Thank you philipp. I do not have "mailto" as an option under Options from which to select. Can it be added?

Thank you philipp. I hit "refresh firefox" and it brought "mailto" back to change. Appreciate the help today!
