How can I find when and who has removed 'LastPass' add-on from my firefox browser. I need to know is there a option that some kind of virus has done this.
Yesterday I've used 'LastPass' add-on with no problem. I can't say for sure that yesterday the icon was present in navigation toolbar (as I usually open the site login page and use auto fill user name option from login forms), but I'm sure that the add-on work just fine, there was the '*' displayed in the right side of each login field and password was correctly filled in. Now the 'LastPass' add-on is not displayed in extension list in my Firefox browser and if I search for 'LastPass' the option to install it is offered.
Can you please tell me how can I check how the 'LastPass' add-on was removed and is this a kind of trojan or virus problem before I reinstall the add-on.
Thanks for your support.

I checked https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/
Lastpass was not on the list. Have you check with their support site?
Hello FredMcD,
I'm very grateful for your response.
I've didn't ask for help from 'LastPass' support center. I'm not sure that they could help much as their add-on should be 'guest application' in Firefox, but I can ask them if they have some similar situation or just inform them for this kind of problem is detected.
The main interest for me was to know is there any log in Firefox which follows add-on activity and installation process and is there a chance some malware software to attack this kind of add-on.
Thank you for your effort and quick response.
Best regards.
Maybe you used the Firefox Refresh option.
- See Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
- Do you remember doing that ?
Check on your Windows Desktop, if you have a folder with a name like old profile keep that it is important.
- Do you have such a folder ?
- Did you have any other addons ?
- Did you lose them ?
I do not use last pass. Presumably it allows you to backup passwords. If so I hope you did that and have not lost anything important.
Hello John99,
I'm very grateful for your response, too.
I've didn't used Firefox Refresh option. Today I've started Firefox, find that there is a new update for Adobe Flash player, installed the latest update of Flash player. After that I like to log in on my Google account and notice the problem with 'LastPass' add-on. When I've noticed that, I've try to search is there someone else have report this kind of problem, and than I've check Firefox for updates as possible solution, but I've already installed the latest version.
I can't find folder named as 'old profile' neither on my desktop, neither in my Firefox local settings.
I'm using other add-ons and they are still present and active.
Thank you very much for your support.
Best regards.
I suggest you contact Last Pass' own site they have a support ticket system and a forum.
I do not know if any special precautions need to be taken to ensue you do not lose data on reinstalling Last Past
- Apparently there was some sort of security incident recently regarding last pass
LastPass Security Notice https://blog.lastpass.com/2015/06/lastpass-security-notice.html/ - https://helpdesk.lastpass.com/help-center-and-faqs/
- Forum: https://forums.lastpass.com/
Thank you very much for your kindness and effort to help me. I really appreciate this.
I've already send ticket to 'LastPass' support center and I'll inform you if they solve this problem.
Best regards.
LP was removed by FF in the latest beta. It says it can't be verified. Addl info message is here -- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-on-signing-in-firefox?as=u&utm_source=inproduct
As an exTREMEly long-time FF beta (.8) I'm not happy at all. And yes, I'm contacting LP to request an update. But I'm *more* unhappy with FF for not giving me an option to force one of my primary add-ons.
