Is there any way to book mark a website in more than 1 folder? Some articles I have saved for research should be filed in more than just 1 topic folder.

Using the "star" or the shortcut Ctrl+d a second time for the same address will simply move the existing bookmark to a new location, as you may have discovered.

Probably the simplest workaround is copy and paste. If you open the Library dialog using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+b
  • "Show All Bookmarks" from the toolbar button

You can browse the Bookmarks Menu or Bookmarks Toolbar to a bookmark you want in a second category. In the list on the right side, right-click > Copy the bookmark, then browse to a new location and right-click > Paste it there.

Not as convenient as being able to save to multiple locations in real time, so if that is critical, you might look for an add-on that could do it. You can search here:

You can also drag the Tab or the globe/padlock located at the left end of the location/address bar to the bookmarks sidebar or to the bookmarks menu and drop it in the desired position. This also works for the "Show your bookmarks" drop-down list (button next to the star on the Navigation Toolbar).
