Send option does not appear on email

You can select write or reply and put in the to email. You can type your message but you do not have a send button to select to send the message. This program was working until a couple of weeks ago. It was an older version of Thunderbird 31.?.? which has now been up graded to 38.5.1 problem still exists. My computer I did notice that the send button is greyed out until there is an email address in the to line.

ANY suggestions. My hair is turning greyer by the minute.

I hope the screen shot is readable I guess I could go for a different size.

You are missing your toolbars in the Write window.

Open a Write window. Press the alt key to make the Menu Bar appear. From the Menu Bar select View-Toolbars and turn them back on Send is on the Composition Toolbar.
