I have paid gandi.net for an email address only to be told I can't have it.
Downloaded Thunderbird. Went to set up email. Was offered a new email address by Gandi.net. I selected one that was available. Entered all credit card details. Received a message that process was halted due to ERROR (that being I don't have a right to the domain), Yet It appears as PAID in the billing section. Why did the email come up as available if it really wasn't? Why did they take my money and THEN tell me it wasn't available?
I am now wondering if I will get my money back.
Has this happened to anyone else?

This is a matter between you and gandi. We really have no control over what they do or do not do. They originally entered a contract with a legal entity that no longer exists. (Mozilla Messaging) So I really do not know what happens from a legal perspective. But from where your sitting, if you want action I suggest you ask Gandi.

From a personal perspective, I can understand an automated form accepting a request for an email address of a domain you do not own. The folk that designed the form probably never considered that someone would try and register an email address on a domain they did not have a legal right to access.
My guess is no human has been involved in the process up until now and you will get a refund once you get in contact with a human. But that is entirely my personal views. I work for none of the parties to your dispute so have no standing in the matter at all..
