When attaching files from a network drive, the folders are greyed out in the Attach File(s) dialog.
When I try to attach a file and browse to a network location, all the folders are greyed out and inaccessible. I'm running the most recent update of Thunderbird (45) on a Mac Pro OS 10.6.8. We also run Thunderbird on a Windows XP box, and it does not have this problem.

Here's a screenshot of the Attach file(s) dialog I'm getting.
At a guess this will have to do with file permissions on the share. IIRC XP does not implement the full unix permissions, so may behave differently on a share.
Hi Matt,
Thanks for responding.
This happens whether connecting to the XP box or another Mac running the same 10.6.8 OS. Weirdly, the Thunderbird installs on my MacBook Pro and the XP box do not have this issue at all - they connect to the other Macs and the XP box with no problems. We use the same username and password on all the machines to avoid permission problems. So, I'm a bit mystified why this happens on some machines and not others.
Any ideas? Could it be something in about:config or in the profile?
