Firefox opening page keeps switching back to Yahoo even though I deleted the option
All of a sudden when firefox opens instead of my Google page Yahoo opens. How do I get back to my opening page on Firefox to be Google? 1. I changed options/default search engine to Google. Yahoo was unchecked in "one-click search engines" so I deleted it all together. 2.installed the add-on "new tab override" and installed it. Also set that for Google. Google now opens in new tabs but still not on opening Firefox. 3. Manually downloaded the upgrade to Firefox - version 50.1.0 Thanks

Hi, look in your add-ons for anything suspicious - Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Extensions.
Also look in your PC's Control Panel > Programs for anything 'Yahoo' that you didn't install - it might also be hiding in the guise of 'Spigot.'
Also do a search for Yahoo and Spigot in your PC's search box.
You can also check your Firefox Desktop shortcut for corruption: Right click on it > Properties, and in Target, make sure there is no sign of the malware. If there is, delete that part of it. Or if it's easier, you can just delete it and recreate a new shortcut. More: Wrong home page opens when I start Firefox - How to fix.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista if you don't already have one. Windows 8/10 have antivirus protection built-in.

Thank you for the quick solution! That seems to have taken care of it. I found Yahoo/Powered in my programs, when I clicked on it to uninstall it took me to a page with instructions to reset my default when opening Firefox.
