Thunderbird does not have an option to leave messages on server on the server settings menu. How can I turn this option on?

The menu that displays on Thunderbird for Server Settings does not match the menu on the help forum. There is no option to leave messages on the server. I want to have Thunderbird delete emails from the server after it downloads them.

If that option is not showing you are using IMAP. That option only applies to POP. I suggest you Google IMAP to learn how it works and differs from POP.
