Make sure you are not blocking content.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

What did help, though, was "Refresh Firefox"
Gmail began working again after the "Refresh", however, I'm concerned that the problem might continue repeatedly.
Any suggestions to keep things running smoothly?
