moving profile to another disk.....
so, am trying to move my profile to another disk because the one thats in now C is getting filled up and i have some problems downloading mails. i have already copied the profiles folders to another disk.... now i need some help with the ini file. i took the %appdata%\thunderbird files and copied them to hdd -> d:thunderbird. now my profile.ini file looks like
Default=Profiles/zz4n3ujx.default
Default=Profiles/lu4lwq6s.default-release
Locked=1
[Profile1] Name=default-release IsRelative=1 Path=E:\Thunderbird\Profiles/lu4lwq6s.default-release
[Profile0] Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/zz4n3ujx.default Default=1
[General] StartWithLastProfile=1 Version=2
which by all accounts should be wrong.....

Don't bother with the profile.ini file. Use the Profile Manager, instead, to create a new profile that uses the copied folder in its new location. The Profile Manager will make the right changes to the right profile.ini file.
To open the Profile Manager, go to Start > Run and type
thunderbird.exe -p
Then press Enter. The Profile manager will open. Create a new profile, give it a simple name and choose profile folder in its new location and launch Tbird using that new profile.
ok.... seems to be working and it does look like its continuing and the old folder.
i should erase the other profile files, profile.ini and files from drive c now?
p.s. now its shows 3 profiles in there but i only use 1 email.
Go to Help > Troubleshooting Information > about:profiles to open the About Profiles page aka the modern Profile Manager. You will see all the profiles and which one is actually in use and most importantly, where their profile folders are located. Use the information there to confirm that the right folder location is in use by the right profile, then you can delete the extra profiles and their associated folders right from within this page.
