Can't connect to email server after latest Thunderbird update

This morning Thunderbird installed an update as I launched it.

When it didn't connect, I wasn't too worried - these things happen every once in a while and usually it connects on its second attempt.

This time it didn't. It's now been nine hours and I haven't been able to connect. Keep getting this error message....

Login to server mail.btinternet.com with username **************@btinternet.com failed.

The weird thing is, my primary email is a btinternet.com email, and I have three others I use for different things, which I also access through Thunderbird and are also all btinternet.com emails. Thunderbird is able to check the other three but not my primary email - the one I use most. WHY?

Everything was working fine yesterday before this update.

What has this latest update done? Why can't I see my mail?

Try this: Suggest you delete the password, restart Thunderbird and at the prompt enter password and select checkbox to remember password.

Passwords are here: Menu app icon > Options > Privacy & Security Under 'Passwords' section click on 'Saved Passwords' click on 'Show Passwords' you may be prompted to enter the computer User Account password

There should be two entries for that email address, incoming and smtp/outgoing Select each and click on 'Remove' click on 'Close'

Restart Thunderbird.
