Firefox freezing Windows 10 (64) Apps on desktop computer.
Using FIREFOX V. 107 on a Windows 10 desktop computer with 32 GB memory.
Dec 18, 2022 With Firefox running in the background while using other apps, they suddenly become unresponsive. I found I can fix this by going to Task Manager, clicking on Firefox then a dozen or more processe open. Clicking on and deleting the smallest one, about 3MB, gets me back up and running. This happens even with no add-ons.
THIS WAS NEVER A PROBLEM WITH OLDER VERSIONS (V100 or before)
If you can't fix this, please make go back to a version which worked. The memory leaks/bloat are a disaster.
DON'T IGNORE THIS ISSUE. IT IS A DAMN NUISANCE !!!
Thanks.

Some graphics drivers and graphics cards may cause the Firefox browser to freeze often especially when using hardware acceleration. Hardware acceleration forces some computer functions to run efficiently compared to using software on a general-purpose CPU
Greetings, TG
I have tried hardware acceleration on and off. Does not help. What FF does is dump an enormous amound of bloat and I have to go to Task Manager and wipe its ass. Many other complaints on line about this.
You are not imptoving FF by making it bigger. Go back to the drawing board and trim the fat or tweak or earlier version that was leaner and healthier.
Right now using FF is slowing me down. That's unacceptable and I have downloaded a couple of other browsers to try out - none of which have made my Windows apps freeze like your POS.
Run a Malware Scan. Whenever Windows freezes, an external virus or bug may be to blame. ... Run an SFC Scan. Clear Windows Temp Files. Check Your Hard Disk for Malfunctions. Turn Off Fast Startup. Check Windows Power Management Settings. Reset Windows. Inspect Low Memory Issues
Regards, Will
I have thoroughly checked my computer with McAfee and Windows defender, cleaned up temp and useless files with CC Cleaner. I have no disks, use 5 TB worth of M.2 and SSD solid state drives - they check out 100%. Power management is off, nothing to slow me down. Have 32 gB of fast DDR4 memory on board.
So... What you're doing is trying to pass the buck to me where the fundamental problem is a defective Firefox browser which, while not being used, causes other aps, like Photoshop, WP Office, Acrobat and DOpus -whatever I happen top be running, to freeze. The computer, iself, doesn't freeze... (One more time) I have to go to Task Manager, clicking on Firefox then a dozen or more processes open. Clicking on and deleting the smallest one, about 3MB, gets me back up and running. This happens even with no add-ons.
FIREFOX IS FUCKED UP AND HAS BEEN FOR MONTHS - IT USED TO BE GREAT BUT THE IDIOTS AT MOZILLA HAVE MADE IT INTO A BLOATED MEMORY AND RESOURCE HOG WITH HUGE MEMORYY LEAKS.
However, I have found a solution so I won't be bothering you anymore.
Since you have no intention of making Firefox work properly, I did something I should have done a long time ago: I deleted it and have gone on to another browser (Vivaldi,) which has been working flawlessly.
Good bye and good riddance.
IDIOTS !
