I have two problems that may be related: 1. I can not get my spectrum email (cfl.rr.com) account to work. I believe that it is not accepting my password. when I use the automatic setup I got an error so I tried the manual setup:

Manual Configuration – [Re-test button ] the following settings were found by probing the given server Incoming server Protocol: IMAP Hostname: mobile.charter.net Port: 993 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: normal password Username: TaylorsOFPalmBay@cfl.rr.com

Outgoing server Hostname: mobile.charter.net Port: 587 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: normal password Username: TaylorsOFPalmBay@cfl.rr.com

However I get these errors: [trying to get messages] Logging to account TaylorsOfPalmBay@cfl.rr.com failed Logging to server mobile.charter.net with user name TaylorsOfPalmBay@cfl.rr.com failed.

and if I try to send a message [trying to compose and send a message] Sending of the message failed. Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (STMP) mobile.charter.net. Please check the password and verify the ‘Authentication method’ in ‘Account settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)’.

I used the following for set up • Username: Your full Spectrum email address • Password: Your Spectrum email password • SSL: On • Protocol: IMAP • Incoming Server Port: 993 • Outgoing Server Port: 587 • Requires Authentication: Yes, or checked [normal password was the only option]

2. The second problem is that I added other accounts gmail, yahoo, and hotmail and they are failing when trying to send messages.

According to Spectrum published settings, the mail server for cfl.rr.com email addresses should be mail.brighthouse.com, not the one you're using:

https://www.spectrum.net/support/internet/spectrum-email-server-settings

And according to this other page, the mail server should be mail.twc.com:

https://www.postbox-inc.com/setup/email-settings/access-rr-com-via-imap-smtp

Moreover, regardless of whether the latter is correct or not, the security setting stated there is probably correct and you may have to choose STARTTLS for the outgoing (SMTP) server.

The problem with the other accounts is probably related to you having to use OAuth2 for them:
